We are very excited to be back in the swing of things, and the learning commons in January has tons of awesome literacy tools to share!
Beginning towards the end of January 2013 we have our Character Trait Read-a-Thon. This fabulous reading motivator will get your primary to high school students hooked on reading and learning to write a book review. To find out more how our Read-a-Thon works please go here.
Also happening in January we have our Flat Stanley theme happening on the wiki. Please encourage your students to make their own Flat Stanley characters and share as a literacy tool and community adventure! To find out how to contribute to our Flat Stanley wiki go here.

Webspiration Webinar meeting, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 3:30 PM Pacific Standard Time
Webspiration Classroom is hosting a webinar for HCOS teachers, parents, and students, to familiarize our community with this creative learning space, ideal for visual learners.
Webspiration classroom is a learning space where creative ideas are birthed through visual mind-mapping. Visual thinkers can now brainstorm and organize their thoughts by connecting images and word associations. With one click these visual connections are transformed into a linear outline. Enter the Cloud and collaborate remotely with peers or mentor. Share your work with your teacher along the way or as a polished written expression. Let this program improve your writing and thinking skills as you venture through the writing process independently or collaboratively. This program is available to HCOS student for $10/student taken from curriculum budget (recommended for grades 3-12).
Contact support teacher for login information to the webinar.
