“Try Before You Buy”

One of the amazing features of our Learning Commons is the great choice of homeschooling materials you get to “try before you buy”. You can sample some awesome learning materials (unit study kits, novel studies, textbooks, teacher guides, manipulates etc) you are considering using and have them shipped to your home.  You can peruse them for six or more weeks, and even give them a whirl with your student.

Recently I used our Learning Commons in this way. I was interested in a resource and researched it.  There were many mixed reviews, and I didn’t know anyone personally who had used it so… what could be better than actually getting to look at it first hand and see if it would work for us. What a blessing, to try this curriculum out, see if it would work and then know that when I purchased it, I purchased it with confidence knowing it would be used.

I don’t know about you, but I know that over our 17 years of homeschooling I have purchased materials that have sat on my shelf never to be used! Borrowing those resources from our Learning Commons first, and then purchasing them is so much better stewardship.

I encourage you to take a look at what is available in L4U and if you find a resource that interests you, see if we have it available first. Try it out and then if it is all that you thought it would be purchase it yourself! If not, return it to the Learning Commons and maybe it will be right for the next family…

Blessings,

Natalie
