Learning Commons News February

Welcome to almost spring, a time of budding changes in the earth and in our school system!  This past month some of our staff have enjoyed attending conferences at the Future of Learning in Florida, and more recently at FISA where faith based schools joined in community to share the birthday of independent schools in BC.  Some of the highlights were listening to Dan Pink share on educational change, Chris Hadfield on project based learning, and Kimberley Mitchell from Inquiry Partners share the reasons why Inquiry is so important for our students.  I am very excited about the changes coming and feel that as a Christian school we can bless our students with all of these great learning adventures from a discipleship approach.  STEAM or STREAM (if you include reading and writing) will be very much part of our new curriculum and our staff have been busy developing programs to fit your students’ needs.

To prepare for our changes we are planning a curriculum meet and greet on March 4th at 12 pm.  We would love to have you join us to hear more and ask questions about how we are preparing for the changes.
