Great Learning happened this Year!
The Heritage online and on campus students were so blessed this year to have Jessie Davis facilitate Maker-Ed sessions the last Friday of each month here in the learning commons. The students from grade 4 to grade 6 had the opportunity to discover problem solving and creativity with the use of Keva planks and keva balls. Along with Keva planks the students worked with making a keyboard and bongo app work on the laptops using ‘Makey,Makey’ and runner beans! If you haven’t heard of the movement of Maker Education it is a term used to create opportunities to develop creativity and an interest in science, technology, engineering, math and art through hands on learning, doing and making. The learning commons has a number of great resources that the online and on campus students can tap into , such as K’nex, lego mindstorms, a 3D printer, Keva planks, Makey Makey and Squishy Circuits.
