Overdrive Resources

To find these resources please make sure you are logged in already with your passwords.

We have curated Gr. 10 – 12 resources under the “Collections” tab.

To search for different topics choose fiction, literature or non-fiction titles and then refine down the side for young adult.  This will yield resources specific to your age group.

Or search in the search bar using your search terms.

L4U Resources

Sign in to L4U physical resources catalogue with your passwords. You will be able to access content in Overdrive eLibrary as well as Ebscohost and Wikipedia by searching in the top tab on your search screen as shared below.

Sign in to subscriptions using your school passwords.  To find these, go to your parent’s Encom (school computer) homepage, choose “Curriculum Resources” from the menu at the top, and scroll down to find the login information for the subscription of your choice.

To find art resources in, choose categories, then arts and finally the type of arts you wish to research.

Alternatively, you can choose Resources, then “Curricula” and British Columbia, for resources that meet the British Columbia Education Plan.

Then choose Arts Education and the program of your choice:

To find out more under the same topic, be sure to choose the

see-related-content-image icon  which will open up more options under the same topic.  It also offers filters in the navigation on the left-hand side:  Categories, subjects, language, age group, media type, closed captioning, etc.

Discovery Education

Discovery Education has much video content on the arts.  Be sure to use the Canadian Discovery Education site or the login will not work.

One search method is to just enter the topic of your choice (e.g. music, art, dance, drama) in the search box at the top of the site, then choose the grade level and other filters after the first set of results comes in.  E.g. for music:

Alternatively, go to the “Advanced Search” (see red arrow in the screenshot above) and choose the topic  of your choice for your grade level.  Search by subject is at the very bottom of the Advanced Search screen.  You will want “visual and performing arts”.
