Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. Over 400 Gizmos aligned to the latest standards help educators bring powerful new learning experiences to the classroom. Gizmos use an inquiry-based approach to learning that has been validated by extensive research as a highly effective way to build conceptual understanding.
Interactive design allows for extensive manipulation of variables and “what-if” experimentation.
Visualizations and graphing tools help capture and compare results from experiments.
In-depth activities create more moments to explore, discover and apply new concepts.
Correlations to Gizmos and the new BC Ed Plan are found here on this page. PARENTS MAY CHOOSE ANY GRADE IN GIZMOS, ACCORDING TO THEIR STUDENT’S INTEREST. By going to this correlations page, they can see what is offered in each grade.
Parents and students may also see the actual Gizmos available in each lesson by going to the Shared Gizmo Lists for Math & Science (document) or Finding and Using the Shared Gizmo Lists (video). This allows you to see the Gizmos, but not to save your work; the site will lock you out after only 5 minutes using a Gizmo. To work in Gizmos, saving your progress, set up an account as described below.
