Learning Commons Resources
Eighth-grade science offers fun and challenge to budding scientists! Topics explored will deepen student knowledge of physics, chemistry, biology and earth and space science. Opportunities to fully employ the scientific method are found throughout each kit. Students will also be challenged to complete inquiry-based learning, conduct research, design their own experiments and projects, and present their learning to others. Each kit is designed to integrate the Modernized BC Curriculum Core Competencies: Communication, Creative and Critical Thinking, and Personal and Social Skills/Knowledge.
Topics explored in our eighth-grade science kits include the Electromagnetic Spectrum and Light, Kinetic Molecular Theory and Atomic Energy, Plate Tectonics, and Cells. Each kit also integrates concepts in numeracy, literacy, technology, and design thinking!
We have a wide variety of books, curriculum and DVDs that cover this topic.
