Description
In our increasingly tech-savvy world it is important that children develop the safety and digital citizenship skills they need to navigate this challenging environment. This unit also spends time addressing bullying, and how to seek help if you are being bullied. Completion of this unit can be counted toward applied skills, career, health, and social studies! Play games, watch videos, read fascinating stories, work as a family to design a technology agreement, create artwork, learn how to conduct research, practice being a kind digital citizen, learn about bullying and how to prevent bullying, practice being an upstander and caring for others, and much more! This kit is divided into three sections: Staying Safe on the Net, Being a Good Digital Citizen, and What is Bullying and What Can I Do About It?. Each of the three sections is divided into a series of lessons that can be completed over whatever duration of time you prefer.
The materials, projects, and activities contained in the kit have been carefully selected to address the big ideas, competencies, and content of BC’s Modernized Curriculum.
