Special Education Department – Using the L4U Physical Library
HCS and HCOS families now have open access in the L4U Physical Library for Special Education loans. This means that anyone can book Special Education items for themselves, which should cut down on a lot of extra work and confusion.
Teachers, SE and LS consultants are encouraged to work together to recommend material for their families and, if possible, show them how to book it. They can also refer parents to Kelly Wiebe or Shandra Wiebe who will assist them in the booking process. The process is the same for all materials, so many parents will be familiar with it.
The loan period is 49 days, but items can be renewed if no other bookings have been placed.
IMPORTANT The only exception is Susan Barton material. Although it is booked for 49 days, the books do not have to be returned. Only the tiles and spell correctors should be returned by families when they are done with the program. We will change the due date manually if we book it for the client, so that it will show a year long booking and delete the booking once the tiles are returned.
Special Education material can be found in L4U under Topic Search, 003 Special Education icon:
