Theme: Peace
This year’s photography contest is around the theme of “Peace”.
Some concepts to get you thinking...
- What is the first thing that comes to mind when someone says the word “Peace”?
- When can you see peace the best? When everything is going well, or in the midst of hard times?
- Is the meaning of peace different from worldly or biblical perspectives?
2 Thessalonians 3:16 "Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all."
Rules:
(This contest is open to all Grades. You can submit up to 3 pictures in this contest)
The photo must be taken by you. You may use photos you have already taken, but we greatly encourage you to go out and create new photos. The photo Can Not have been entered in a previous HCOS Contest. If there are people other than yourself in the photo, you must have their permission to enter the photo in the contest. It is important that you submit your photo along with a description of the Journey you are capturing and your thoughts on it.
Along with your photo, include: (all are required*) 
- *A description of the image (what is happening in the photo and why it fits the theme)
- *Your Grade (so that we know what age category to judge you in)
- *Your Name
- *What camera you took the photo with (and what lens if you used one)?
Editing tools & Photo Sizing.
I recommend using Canva to get your photos the perfect size to upload into this contest. Canva is a free program that lets you size photos, compile two photos in one, edit and more. In order to get your photos to fit in the size cap, they must be 3 MB or less. Open a free Canva account. Click the "create a design" button in the top right corner, click "custom design", then choose the 1000 x 1000 px size. This will give you a box in which you can fit your photo. You are welcome to input your own dimensions if you have a landscape style, but please use 1500 px or smaller as your largest dimension.
Judging: The winner(s) will be chosen by our Judges.
The images will be judged on:
Composition- Fitting the Theme
- Creativity
- Skill level
- Is the image crisp or clear?
- Is the focus adjusted appropriately?
- Lighting
After the contest closes on January 2nd, the judges will make their choices in the following week(s), and the winning photos will be announced. Prizes for this contest will be Amazon gift cards!
Participants: There is a minimum participant cap on this contest. If, for whatever reason, we receive fewer than 10 entries to this contest before the closing date, the contest will be cancelled. So tell your friends to join the fun!!
