The New Interacting with Matter Grade 1 Unit Study Kit is ready to book!
This exciting unit covers curricular competencies for Grade 1 science regarding the properties of matter. Everything is made of matter! You will be able to read engaging books, watch fun and fantastic videos, play games, make crafts, and choose from dozens of projects to create the ultimate self-directed learning experience for your student!
This kit is divided into sections based around driving questions. You will have the opportunity to choose your materials and projects in each section of the kit. The materials, projects, and activities contained in the kit have been carefully selected to address the big ideas, competencies, and content of BC’s Modernized Curriculum.
Features of the HCOS Unit Study Kits
A cross-curricular approach has been taken to include STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading/writing, Engineering, Art and Math) integration so that students have choices, and differentiated learning options according to their learning style.
Career Education and design thinking (ADST) activities may also be included where applicable. The kits include a Guided Inquiry approach, directly tying into the Core Competencies. The kits incorporate Biblical worldview, and where applicable, First Peoples Principles of Learning.
This new Unit Study Kit format is a BLENDED KIT. This means that both the physical and digital versions have been combined into ONE DOCUMENT.
Regardless of whether you are taking out the physical kit from the Learning Commons search portal, (which includes paper books), or using all digital resources, you will need to access the guide ONLINE.
